Our Firm is comprised of 3 partners, Peter Ashby, Ryan Madden and Margot Truman, 12 professional staff as well as 4 support staff. Our clients include individual tax payers, small to medium sized enterprises including farmers, professionals and complex family group structures. Proficient in all areas of accountancy, taxation, business management and financial planning, Ashby Madden Truman combines up to date knowledge with over 30 years experience. We make every effort to integrate with our clients in-house processing systems, including Xero, MYOB, Phoenix, Quickbooks and Reckon.
Partners
Peter Ashby
Peter Ashby by way of background and original qualifications, has a long standing interest and experience in the rural industry in providing management advice as well as accounting and tax advice. He also has general business accounting and tax experience and offers specialist tax and management advice for superfunds. He is also an authorised “Planning for Recovery” advisor (SARDI).
Ryan Madden
Ryan joined Ashby Madden Truman in 2007 and has been a partner since 2012. He completed his studies in a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) at Adelaide University, achieved CPA status in 2010 and became a Registered Tax Agent in 2012. He is also a Registered Super Fund Auditor with ASIC and Chartered Tax Adviser with the Tax Institute. In 2015, Ryan also completed his Diploma of Financial Planning and is a Director of Ashby Madden Truman Financial Services Pty Ltd. Originally from the Riverland, his interests include travelling, basketball and football and he is a prominent member of the Walkerville Football Club. With over 12 years experience, Ryan specialises in audit, as well as advising in small business, including primary production taxation, superannuation and GST. He is an accomplished IT person and general trouble shooter on computer matters. He is also well versed in administration of our preferred client processing software packages MYOB, ‘BankLink’ and Xero.
Margot Truman
Margot joined Ashby Madden Truman in 2008 and became a partner in 2014. Previously she worked as a fund accountant at Schroders and at Dresdner RCM in London, then as a financial analyst for Westpac and later EDS. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Accountancy) from University of SA and is a CPA. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Tax Institute and has completed a Certificate in Applied Tax. She has completed her Diploma of Financial Planning and is authorised to provide personal financial advice. Margot has experience in superannuation, personal and small business taxation accounting and advice. Her interests include spending time with family and friends, running, garden design and travelling.

Peter Roma
Peter Roma is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and was a partner in Ashby Roma & Co for over 20 years. He has broad experience in small business taxation and accounting as well as a wide range of audit experience for public companies, small and medium enterprises and public institutions as well as superfunds. He offers specialist taxation and accounting services for business, professionals, individuals and superfunds.
Tony Buttery
Tony is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants, a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Taxation Institute of Australia and a member of the National Tax & Accountants Association. Since December 1980, Tony has been a registered tax agent and has vast professional expertise in taxation and accountancy services. He also has over 20 years of experience in providing financial planning services. His high quality advice over a career spanning 37 years has assisted clients in providing financial certainty with ‘peace of mind’ in achieving their goals and ensuring all statutory obligations are kept up to date.
Peter Kunda
Peter returned to Ashby Madden Truman after some time living in Sydney. His areas of expertise include technical tax issues, troubleshooting, business structures, complex family groups, tax and estate planning.
Dustin Fromm
Dustin recently returned to Ashby Madden Truman after three years of working as Finance Manager at Kooyonga Golf Club. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Adelaide University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Raised on a farm in the Flinders Ranges, Dustin has a strong interest in the rural industry. Most of his spare time is spent playing golf or football, lending a hand on the family farm and spending quality time with his friends and family.
Natalia Elagina
Natalia relocated to Australia from Russia in 2008. She has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Adelaide, a university degree in finance and over 10 years experience in banking. Natalia is passionate about taxation accounting; she is a student member of the Tax Institute of Australia and has ambitions to become a Chartered Tax Advisor and a CPA member. She is married with one child and her interests include running and cycling around Adelaide and enjoying the beauty of Australian nature.
Daniel Slorach
Daniel joined Ashby Madden Truman in 2017 as a junior accountant after working as a bookkeeper. He graduated from the University of South Australia in 2015 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is in the final stages of the CA program. His spare time includes playing football, attending live music shows events, camping and fishing.
Kate Esina
Kate relocated to Australia from Russia in 2008 and joined the team at Ashby Madden Truman in late 2017 as a junior accountant. She has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Adelaide and is in the final stages of the CA program. In her spare time Kate enjoys socialising with friends and watching the latest movie releases.
Christi Chong
Christi has a Bachelor of Arts (Accountancy) from the University of South Australia. She is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English and has been a member of the CPA since 2013. Christi has experience in superannuation, small business taxation accounting and bookkeeping and is well versed in Xero, MYOB, and Reckon. She is married with two children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and traveling.
Janine Obst
Janine is a qualified Accountant, with a Bachelor of Arts (Accountancy). She has worked as a Tax Accountant for over twelve years, providing business services to all types of entities as well as working with Self-Managed Superfunds over the past five years. She has also 13 years of tax consulting experience, assisting the public with individual and small business returns. She enjoys relaxing on the week-end with friends & family, loves shopping and enjoying the outdoors.
Belal Khelwaty
Belal graduated in 2016 from a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) & Bachelor of Applied Finance double degree at the University of South Australia. He is currently completing an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning. His interests include playing soccer, spending quality time with friends and family and the occasional travelling getaway.
Angela De Ieso
Angela joined Ashby Madden Truman as a receptionist in 2007 and is a Xero Certified Advisor. She is married with two children and her interests include spending time with family and friends, reading and watching good movies. She is Team Manager for the Colts U17/18’s at the Valley View Soccer Club.
Lisa Gibilisco
Lisa joined Ashby Madden Truman in 2016 after relocating from Melbourne and is part of our administration team. She recently graduated as a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is a member of the American Board of Hynotherapy, American Board of NLP and Time Line Therapy (TM) Association. Lisa also has a flair for marketing and her interests include singing, design and creative work.
Lisa Jones
Lisa relocated to Australia from the United States in 2016 and joined Ashby Madden Truman in 2018 as part of the administration team. She graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Anthropology. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys hiking, reading, and gardening.

Carla recently joined Ashby Madden Truman as part of our administration team. Carla enjoys spending time with family & friends, music, cooking and travel.
